A Pig Visits the Library

On Friday, March 17th, Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, Sarah brought a piglet to the Hawkins Memorial Library in LaPorte City! The new 'Read with A Farmer' program is designed to introduce children to agriculture in a Library setting.

This day, the children were read a story about how the corn in the field gets to their cereal bowl. Then, we played a riddle game where the children had to guess which biproducts come from each animal.

Finally, they got to meet a piglet! With squeals and giggles, the children had a wonderful time!
