Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, Sarah Rickelman is gearing up for the 2024-2025 school year. This year’s theme is ‘Exploring Our Agricultural Connection’ which will explore how we are all connected to the food, fuel and fiber that farmers across the United States provide for us. Each month, students will have a 30-minute lesson where they will be able to get hands-on with agriculture concepts ranging from soybeans to soil, butter to bi-products, and corn to cover crops. It’s important that the lessons are engaging for all ages and spectrum levels, and that they can connect what they are learning in the classroom to their food and consumer decisions.
If you are interested in having the Black Hawk County Ag in the Classroom Program visit your school during the upcoming school year, contact Sarah Rickelman at (319) 429-0626 today so you can be added to the list.
